SBM/finance/administration expert

Kate began working in the Education sector in 2001, working for an FE college in an administrative support role that was student focused, she then co-ordinated the department for KS4 students. Kate has worked in her current role at Dorset County Council for nearly six years – the role of a SAFSO is to support and train School Business Managers, Finance Officers and Administrative Officers in maintained schools and academies. The role includes training which is primarily focussed on finance, providing one-to-one support for school staff, running a helpline for schools to support them with finance and MIS issues, and preparing and delivering focus groups. Kate’s main area of expertise lies in school and academy finances, where she takes a keen interest in furthering her knowledge to enhance her ability to support her school colleagues.
